The new corrugator at THIMM Verpackung in Alzey has started successfully. This high tech machine is able to produce more than 150 million square metres and the flute types: E, B, C, EE, EB and BC. Altogether THIMM invested ten million Euro into the location of Alzey during the past 18 months and set new standards in this industrial sector for this reason.
The aim of this investment is to increase quality as well as efficiency within the Alzey plant and to provide sufficient corrugated cardboard to the processing capacities which have been installed during the past years. Since the middle of 2008 there have been started two further machines: an additional, fully automatic flexo folder gluer with four colours, which is able to produce American cases. The second one, a fully automated folder gluer, complements the product portfolio, especially through multi-part shelf ready packaging. Both are equipped with robot palletizers.
“The range of products, which can be produced in our Alzey plant is diversified and unique in our industry” Thomas Koch (plant manager) explains the development of the site. “We dispose of one of the most modern factories of corrugated cardboard in Germany.”
