ACE Packaging Austria (Graz / Austria) and THIMM SCHERTLER Verpackungssysteme (Nordhausen/ Thuringia) combine their expertise in packaging systems made of multi-materials. Retroactively as of 1st January 2010, Agron Galimuna – owner and chief executing officer of ACE – sold 49% of his company to THIMM. In the future, the company ACE Packaging Austria will be managed conjointly by Agron Galimuna and Jürgen Düvel, Managing Director of THIMM SCHERTLER Verpackungssysteme. The two companies agreed to keep the purchase price confidential.

Both companies have long-time experience in the design, production and finishing of high-tech packaging in the field of foam and heavy goods packages, containers and multi-part packaging systems made of various combinations of materials especially for the automotive industry: From very small orders up to high volumes. The portfolio also includes packing services for customer products such as engines or gear units. The packing materials used are predominantly corrugated cardboard, wood and various foam pads. Companies from the technology sector, such as medical engineering, measurement and control technology, as well as from the solar industry are also buyers of these tailor-made packaging solutions.

“Together with THIMM we will be able to grow faster and to expand our market position in Austria” Agron Galimuna explains the prospects of his company. “It is our objective to bundle our resources and to link our structures. This keeps our organization flat and prepares us well for future challenges.”

Jürgen Düvel also anticipates synergies: “For us, the cooperation with ACE Packaging Austria is one important step of our growth strategy. Austria is an attractive market with a good customer structure. Due to the proximity of our sites we will achieve a very good geographic coverage. Our product and service portfolios are a perfect match. We very much appreciate the development skills of Agron Galimuna and his team.”

Today, THIMM SCHERTLER Verpackungssysteme is one of the leading German manufacturers of special packaging with locations in Nordhausen, Neuburg/ Donau and Chotětov (Czech Republic). Round about 360 employees generate an annual turnover of 56 million Euro. Although ACE Packaging Austria is a relatively small company with only seven employees, it has been well established in the Austrian market for many years. Many well-known car producers are part of its clientele. Both companies will be part of the internationally operating THIMM Group.
