The edge protection pad of THIMM Verpackung is a mono-material packaging made of corrugated cardboard offering an easy handling within the supply chain. The recycling product is typically used for the transport of furniture, electric equipment and devices or similar products which have sensitive edges and make high demands on an intelligent transport protection.

The pad can be stored as glued, flat blank. After use it can also be folded up again. This minimizes the storage and transport volume. From the economic and ecological point of view this is a real advantage.

When setting up the blank, a double wall L-profile appears. The inside and outside walls form a one-piece body. This body is taped, tacked or plunged at one point. There is a hollow space between the walls which serves as crush zone. Depending on the customer’s requirements, the inside walls can be equipped with additional supporting tabs, which provide further stabilisation. On the head of the profile a fixation helps to keep the structure in shape. Compared to traditional solutions, this profile offers a considerably better edge protection.

The edge protection pad will be exhibited at the FachPack 2010 trade fair in hall 7A, at the booths of THIMM Verpackung number 242 and 342.
